over by recent spring growth, and areas with a complex of single width tracks. A cool day made for good riding conditions.

The area also has steep downhill MTB tracks used by mountain bike riders, but these were generally an option on the longer courses only.

Full results are available for competitve and recreational competitors.

The open mens course of 25.5 kn was won by Ian Fehler in 120:26, 4 minutes ahead of veteran campaigner Lee Merchant in 124:14.  Lee had the fastest time on a route choice leg (15-16 - see map section below) and at that stage was only 5 seconds adrift. Ian gradually pulled away over the later part of the course.

Kay Haarsma, national MTBO coach, won the Women's course of 18.5 km in 122:29 ahead of Fern Tomas in her first MTBO outing.

M50A and M60A were both closely contested, with Peter Mayer only 19 seconds ahead of second place Paul Hoopman in M60A (90:11 vs 90:30). Gerry Velaitis won M50A, where only one second then separated 2nd and 3rd (Grant Henwood and David Couche).  Anthea Williams rode a very competitive time in W50A of 92:35 - same course as M60A.
