CITY – BAY PROMOTIONAL EVENT  SUNDAY 1st NOVEMBER

Despite the hot conditions (36 degrees) thirty eight hardy souls ventured out to try one of the four orienteering courses offered at North Adelaide. It was great to see the family groups and pairs of friends who went out together.

 Wlling helpers

Because of the heat, the emphasis was on enjoyment and not competition, which is reflected in some of the longer times, where time was taken out for an ice-cream or coffee on the way round, not to mention taking in the sights and attractions of North Adelaide. The times recorded are for personal curiosity and are not a reflection on anyone’s orienteering skill or athletic ability. Link to Results

Given the weather, I was very pleased with the turn out and would like to thank the participants and all of the helpers who made the day possible.

Special mention is made of sponsor, Paddy Pallin who helped to pay for the flyers that went in the City – bay “goodie bags” and who is a long term supporter of orienteering in South Australia. Keep  Paddy Pallin in mind for your adventure clothing and equipment.

Special thanks to Bob Smith of Snap Printing, Hilton, for setting the courses, printing the maps and putting out and collecting controls. Other helpers were Muriel & Stuart Lane, Carol Such, Jenny Casanova, Jenny Kennedy and Jennie Bourne. Thank you!

 Dressed for the Occasion

If you enjoyed the experience, tell your family and friends. We would love to see you all out at the Summer Series events on Friday nights starting on Friday 27 November at Bonython Park.
